I am a local Bellingham photographer handling many types of photography. While I love to shoot everything from weddings to events, I really thrive photographing sporting events. I don't know about you, but for me there is not much that can beat the smell of fresh cut grass on a cool crisp fall Friday evening standing on the 50 with a camera!

I have been making photos since I was 17 years old, getting started at North Kitsap High School with a photography class. After graduation, I continued my new found love and turned my creative expression in to a college education. I graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in Visual Communications: Graphic Arts and Photography in the spring of 1993. My final college project was an internship with the Bellingham Herald as a photographer.

I am pleased to continue developing photography and a photographers community with www.WPANetwork.com through out Northwestern Washington. If you have any photography or photo order questions, or to find out how to contribute your photographic passion to the WPANetwork please email me at David.Willoughby@WPANetwork.com

Thanks again for your time!

David :)

I have been in love with photography since high school, back when we actually used these things called a darkroom to develop photos :-) I have maintained it as a hobby ever since. I recently taken the leap and made it my profession and haven't looked back. I couldn't be happier with what I do and the great photographers at NWCAthletics.com I work with. I specialize in sports, action and event photography. I love capturing that perfect catch in the end zone, the battle for an open lane for a lay in or a slide into home! There is nothing better then getting that moment perfect and having it frozen in time. The same goes for those special moments like blowing out the candles on a birthday cake, or the preparation for the big dance. I love listening to the ideas of my clients and making the photo capture their unique style and character. Check out my web site at www.janellsummer.com

I have been photographing since I was in my teens. I was also involved in sports in Jr. and Sr High School. So, when my sons became involved in sports, I began photographing them and their teammates. I have enjoyed every second of it; re-living my school days through them. Within the last couple years, I have enjoyed photographing most of the sports at our local high school. I love capturing the moments that happen in all the sports. These moments can be lost forever if not captured on film. You can view other sports photographs as well as my scenery and portraits on my website www.Jlashua.com

Originally from Seattle, I retired in Oak Harbor after serving twenty-four years in the United States Navy. While in the service I served instructor and recruiter duty and deployed eight times aboard Navy ships, including 3 times to the Persian Gulf. In my travels I've been to all fifty states and eighteen foreign countries, among those were Israel, Cuba, Thailand and Fiji. I've been taking photos since high school, and now concentrate almost exclusively on Oak Harbor High School sports. Both my wife and I are heavily involved in local youth and school sports, giving us a way to give back to the community. I have a son who plays 3 sports here in Oak Harbor and a daughter at the University of Washington.

When I look back at my high school athletic experience I regret I have only a couple old faded black & white photos from the local paper. I wish there were pictures of my last game at Civic Field other than those in my mind's eye. I love high school sports, what it offers student athletes, and the joy it brings to the community. From the sidelines and dugouts of Whatcom and Skagit counties I began taking pictures of the student athletes I coached about a dozen years ago because I wanted them and their family to have something tangible, something real, to look back on years from now.

I am a longtime Whatcom County resident where I currently work as an Information Technology teacher at a local high school. Of the four sports I've coached I've been lucky enough to be part of 2 state championship programs and, for a short time, I even filled in as an athletic director. Education is very important to me which is why I've attended (in no particular order) Linfield College, Western Washington University, University of Idaho, City University of Seattle, and Washington State University where I earned an assortment of B.S., M.A., and Ed.S. degrees in such things as History, Education, and Administration.

Please contact me at mcgr7284@hotmail.com if you have any questions.

I have lived in Anacortes for most of my life. I am a graduate of Anacortes High School, where I took my first photography class. I continued taking classes in college too. I am married and have two boys. Been a soccer mom for years and got more into taking pictures of my boys when they were babies and then evolved into taking picture of them in sports as they grew. I enjoy taking all kinds of pictures family, wedding, baby, senior portraits but by far my favorite is sports photography. I love to take pictures of all kinds of sports. I like the movement and the challenge to get “the Picture”. It is almost like Christmas when you get to download and see what wonderful images you caught. Then when you can present that picture to the person it is taken of, that just makes my day!! Molly Hendricks

I have been a photo editor and staff photographer for the past 36 years. My career started after leaving college in the spring of 1982. I was hired as a part time photojournalist for the Federal Way News, a thrice-weekly newspaper in Federal Way, Wash. Three years later I joined the Skagit Valley Herald in April of 1985. We produced an a.m. newspaper seven days a week, with an emphasis on local news and a reputation for photographs that reflect the Skagit Valley community. My career at the Skagit Valley Herald wound up on March 31, 2019, when I retired. Since 2011, I have also worked as an adjunct professor at Western Washington University, where I occasionally teach an introductory photojournalism class.

I am a long-term resident of Bellingham. My son attends Squalicum High School and is very active in
sports. I was taught the art/science of photography as a child by my father who was a journalist for a
large New York newspaper. Under his instruction, I learned the how and the why of photography. From
mother, who was an accomplished artist (painter), I learned the art of the visual image. I am drawn to
photography that captures and evokes emotion. Finding the look on the face of an athlete in motion, the
grandeur of nature, beauty of color, is the challenge of photography that I love.

I have been taking photos and exploring the art for many years. When my son started playing sports I
began exploring sports photography. It has become a passion and focus of my photo work.. I am very
happy to work with NWCAlthletics.com and hope my photos can become your memories.

Thank you,
Will Rice
